Baitworks have been running local carp events here in the Cotswold Water park for the past 5 years. We invite a guest speaker to entertain the 300 or so carper that the event attracts at a local venue here in the CWP
September the 3rd... A date forever etched into not only my mind but also the minds of my family and close friends. It was a normal day when, in the blink of an eye, I was involved in a near-fatal car crash that almost ended my time on this beautiful planet.
Rob Morris has been busy testing a couple of new ingredients/baits for us this summer. On limited time the Swindon angler has been more than impressed with the reaction from the carp to these new products. This 40+ the latest fish to confirm the effectiveness of our commitment to research and development for all our range before they hit the website.
Staying away from the angling pressure down one end of the park lake paid off for Stephen Holdsworth who went on to have a couple of fish whilst many others blanked. This stunning 39.14 (very honest) sought after mirror was the pick of the fish. Curly introduced 3kgs of Atlantic Heat 18mm freebies over a wide area, this was again too much to resist for one of the venues heavyweights. This Atlantic Heat has caught nearly all the stock out of this particular park lake and continues to be the angler in the know number one choice. Well done fella.
Brilliant start for Martin.
Since joining Baitworks this year, specialist angler Martin Bowler has certainly hit the ground running. Martin have caught stacks of Carp, Barbel, and chub on a selection of our Boilies and products. Whats even more satisfiying is that Martin had free choice of ny company in the Uk to join and choose us because of our ethos on producing the best fishing bait in the country. Martins stand out products have been the ‘Scent from Hell’ pop ups that have caught everywhere Martin has cast them.
Time? Recently it would seem that this commodity is rapidly speeding up as I’m getting older! More and more I struggle to find this simple four-letter word, praying for a few more hours in the day. All of this of course is my own doing, choosing to fill my life with a number of different fishing-related projects that fill my time to bursting point. The rise and growth of Baitworks in the last few years has forced me to take on another additional factory to handle our ingredients alone! This has come as welcome news, as I was considering yet another move to bigger premises (we only moved into the current one 18 months ago!). This new factory can aid us in yet more expansion without the need to move (again).
Justin Badman continues his run of form over at Churn Pool fishery this winter with these two commons and a miror taken on a short overnight session. Filming for our new website. Justin fished with a scattering of 15mm shelf life Monster Red boilies with a 15mm Monster Red balanced bottom bait as a hook bait over light weed. This phenomenal bait has caught all of the old stock and looks like its set to catch all the new stock as well. If you are booking up a session at this venue, dont forget to stock up on the mighty Monster before you go. Well done Justin!
What a busy few months it has been for me this month. With the job I’m on coming to an end and the hand over dates coming closer I have been working some serious hours but have managed to fit in a few sessions on Oxlease on the Linear Fisheries complex, and just got back from a weekend on St Johns. I have also fished the BCAC this year representing Trakker with my dad Greg, and we fished our qualifier on Walthamstow 2 & 3. We also fished the Eric’s Cup on there a month
Well, its very rare for me to be away from the factory for more than a day at this time of year but the opportunity to go over and enjoy some French sun was just to much to pass on. With ongoing rise in demand for our products I was somewhat reluctant to go away for a week as we were already a man down at the factory and I just knew I would be returning to a mountain of bait to roll and messages to reply to. Luckily, my misses and sister came to the rescue as both know the business inside
